Panelists include:

Nate.jpgNate Pollack, Co-owner, The American Grilled Cheese Kitchen
Nate is the general manager and co-owner of THE AMERICAN Grilled Cheese Kitchen. After assisting in Heidi Gibson’s (co-owner) recent grilled cheese competitions, Nate made it his mission to pair Heidi’s culinary talents with a grilled cheese-deprived world. Nate helped pay his way though UCLA as an economics and classics scholar through multiple foodservice positions. Nate draws on these restaurant experiences as a host, server, and bartender/bar manager to create the nostalgic atmosphere at THE AMERICAN.

bio_jaredrivera3.jpgJared Rivera, Owner & Social Media Strategist, Rivera PR
"The future of PR is not pitching, it's participating in an ongoing dialog with your customers," says Jared Rivera, founder of Rivera Public Relations. "With social networking sites and new media, there are more ways than ever to go straight to the source to reach your audience."  Seamlessly integrating PR, marketing, and promotions with constructive operations consulting, Rivera explains, "the best way to keep up on trends is to create them yourself."

about-kevin.jpg
Kevin Blum, Owner, SF City Dish
The City Dish was started by Kevin Blum, a Bay Area native (yes, they do exist). Kevin has been a marketing/promotions consultant to some of SF’s top restaurants and bars. Kevin created City Dish to keep his friends in the loop on all the latest and greatest restaurant happenings in town.

Alicia.JPGAlicia Petrakis, Owner, Astaria Restaurant and Bar
Chef Alicia Petrakis believes that creativity combined with integrity of ingredients, and guests who are comforted by Astaria’s friendly approach to service and seasonal menus is what it's all about. Prior to opening Astaria in 2003, Alicia and co-owner Eleni Lolas started Astaria Catering in 1995.  Astaria began primarily as an offsite catering company until 1999 when they were invited to prepare meals for a local Yacht Club.  The Yacht Club was Astaria’s first glimmer into the differences that exist between the restaurant and catering businesses. Today, Petrakis has applied what she has learned through her experiences, and is able to fulfill her dream of giving guests a unique and satisfying experience. She believes that fostering and maintaining good relationships at all levels in the business is an integral part of achieving and maintaining success.
