Internal Marketing
Developing the Buzz
with Staff
Susie
Biehler has expanded her
services to include internal marketing,
teaming with management training
experts to present training programs
to top restaurant management to
effectively maintain and build the
internal buzz amongst a staff.
There is a common theme in all rest-
aurants: "What does it take to keep
a good employee or lure a good em-
ployee away from your competition?"
In general, if their earnings are competitive, it comes down to a single issue
-
the workplace experience the employee has on a day-to-day basis. If they have
a manager who is lacking in people skills,
then they may choose to move on.
What do you need to keep employees happy?
Like any organization, a restaurant’s profitability is a function of their
employee structure. When employees are motivated, educated and work cohesively,
they will perform better. In turn, the restaurant makes more money and fixed
salaries will rise. This basic profit model all begins with management’s
ability to hire, train and motivate their “sales department.”
This is where we enter your picture.
Our management training program will be designed to introduce new common skills
to compliment existing management know-how that will revitalize the staff creating
increased pride, enthusiasm and yield excellent service for all guests.
Our goal is to give our clients’ restaurants not the cutting edge, but
the caring edge that will make them stand out from the pack.
Well-trained managers will not only be able to increase the functionality and
profitability of each restaurant, they will also attract and keep good employees.
What would it be like to have every employee inspired every day?
This training will provide understanding and skills to help managers build a
high performance team.
As part of this training, managers will learn how to integrate new people skills
with the technical aspects of the restaurant business.
These intangibles will translate into:
• Employee Commitment
• Excellent Service
• High Morale
• Solid Employee Retention
• Building Internal Cohesiveness
• A strong internal PR buzz
Managers as a group will learn, develop, and share new wisdom that will help
them create trust, enhance manager performance, engender great attitudes, and
most of all, how to pass this knowledge and skills along to the rest of the staff.
As employees' satisfaction and retention improves, one can expect guest satisfaction
and restaurant attendance to rise.
Management effectiveness will become part of the culture, and a restaurant’s
executive team will have metrics in place to track these results. Managers will
consistently be empowered to choose attitude, personality, and accountability
in service to the restaurant’s goals.
All these attributes will enhance the awareness of the brand and build solid
internal PR within the restaurants.
